What does this tool do?

How long until your project deadline? How many days have you been in business? How long did a contract run? Date subtraction looks simple but gets complicated quickly — months have different lengths, leap years add an extra day, and whether to include the end date changes the result. This tool handles all of that complexity and gives you the difference broken down into every unit you might need.

How to use it

  1. Enter the start date.
  2. Enter the end date.
  3. See the difference broken down into years, months, weeks, and total days.

Pro tips

  • If you need to include both the start and end dates (e.g. for a rental that covers both days), add 1 to the total day count.
  • For business days only — weekends excluded — you will need to subtract those manually or use a dedicated working-days tool.
